My home menu quite often includes all kinds of cutlets. And all thanks to the children, they are the main lovers of this delicious meat dish. And I’m just glad about this, because I’ve known for a long time how easy and quick cutlets are to prepare.

What can you say about cutlets except that they are juicy, tasty, meaty and always appropriate? It’s probably worth adding the fact that absolutely everyone loves cutlets (and cutlets stuffed with cheese are no exception). If you have cutlets in your refrigerator, you won’t have to worry about lunch or dinner. It is enough to simply supplement them with a side dish of any porridge, potatoes, stewed vegetables, and a salad, as usual :)

Cutlets with cheese filling are a separate and completely unique chapter in the book called “cutlets”. Cutlets with cheese are something incredibly juicy, aromatic, with new flavor notes. The cheese in the cutlet melts during frying and imbues the cutlet with its flavor. In addition to the familiar aroma of freshly prepared cutlets, there is also a subtle cheese aroma. What am I telling you? In order to really have any idea about this, it’s incredible delicious dish, you should prepare it and try it yourself. And I, in turn, assure you that if you decide to implement the recipe for cutlets with cheese, you will definitely be full and satisfied.

Ingredients:

  • 800 g minced meat (I used pork)
  • 1/5 white loaf
  • 100 ml milk
  • 1 onion
  • 1/3 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 100-150 g hard cheese
  • sunflower oil for frying

Cutlets with cheese, recipe step by step

First of all, we decide on the base for any cutlets - meat. Pork, beef, turkey and even chicken (or a mixture of two or three types of meat) will do. I had a piece of pork weighing 800 g, from which I prepared minced meat.

Place the minced meat in a large container in which further preparations will take place.

Soak about a fifth of the white loaf in milk. We do it this way: Place a whole piece of loaf in a deep plate or break it into smaller pieces. Then add half a glass of milk to the plate and wait 5 minutes. During this time, the loaf will absorb all the milk and soften.

Peel the onion and chop it very finely or chop it in a blender. The finer you chop the onion, the tastier the cutlets will be.

Add the softened piece of loaf, onion, salt and pepper to the bowl with the minced meat.

Mix the minced meat thoroughly with your hands and leave it in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes. Thanks to this standing, the minced meat becomes more sticky and it will be easier to make cutlets.

Meanwhile, prepare the cheese. Any hard cheese (piece weight approximately 100-120-150 g) is cut into cubes or grated on a coarse grater, as is more convenient for you.

We take the minced meat out of the refrigerator. Pour breadcrumbs into a separate deep plate. Using a spoon, scoop up a portion of minced meat, which we place in a plate with breadcrumbs.

Using your hand, flatten the minced meat into a flat cake, in the center of which we place a portion of cheese.

All that remains is to carefully take the tortilla with cheese in your palm and seal the edges. Then roll the cutlet blank in breadcrumbs on all sides and place it on the prepared board.

The board is still full raw cutlets with cheese filling. The last three patties with dents are the ones that didn't have enough cheese. I designated them this way for myself.

Well, let's proceed to the last stage of preparing cutlets stuffed with cheese - frying. Heat the frying pan thoroughly (otherwise the cutlets will stick to its surface) and add a little sunflower oil (3-4 tablespoons). Place the cutlet blanks in a frying pan and fry them over moderate heat for 4-5 minutes on each side, until a pronounced golden color. Then cover the pan with a lid and keep the cutlets on the lowest heat for another 5-7 minutes.

I usually cook cutlets with cheese inside as a hot appetizer. I make them small in size. I prefer chicken to all the minced meat in this dish, it is both more tender and juicier. It is better to take cheese with a pronounced taste so that it contrasts with the sweetish chicken flesh of the cutlet.

Let's prepare the products according to the list. In addition to the indicated ingredients, I also added a little chili powder, at the request of my husband.

Grind the chicken fillet in a meat grinder. Add the egg, finely chopped onion and semolina to the minced meat.

Season the minced meat with spices and add salt. Mix the minced meat well and then beat it. Raise the ball of minced meat above the plate and forcefully throw it into the plate. This way we will remove all the excess air from the minced meat, and our cheese will not leak out when frying the cutlet.

Cut the hard cheese into cubes slightly smaller than the cutlet you plan to make.

We take some minced meat, put a block of cheese in the middle and form cutlets. I most often make cutlets with cheese inside in the form of sticks. We seal the seam in the cutlet well so that the cheese does not leak out during deep-frying.

Roll the finished cutlets in breadcrumbs.

IMPORTANT: At this point, you can freeze some of the cutlets and cook them later.

Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan or frying pan and fry the cutlets with cheese inside. The cutlets should be completely covered in oil. I cook the cutlets in the deep fryer at 180 degrees C.

Turn the cutlets carefully in the oil so they cook evenly. We take the cutlets with cheese inside out of the oil and now do this:

  • if your cutlets were small, like mine, they were deep-fried completely and the cheese inside melted, then just place the cutlets on a paper towel to blot off excess oil
  • If you were preparing full-size cutlets, then place them in a refractory dish and finish cooking in the oven, preheated to 170 degrees C, for another 10-12 minutes.
