Pasta with tuna and tomatoes. Mediterranean pasta with tuna and tomatoes Tuna with pasta in sauce

Today you won’t surprise anyone with familiar and rather boring pasta. But when you hear: “Today for lunch - pasta with canned tuna", you begin to understand that now you will not be eating ordinary spaghetti, but something unusual, which is served only in Italian restaurants. In fact, everything is much simpler. Even a novice or completely inept housewife can prepare such a dish. If someone doesn’t believe , then it’s enough to remember our naval pasta. Would anyone even dare to admit that they don’t know how to cook this dish? And in the meantime, this is nothing more than a Russian analogue of an overseas dish. Well, enough of the lyricism. It's time to move from words to action.

So, the heroine of our today's review is pasta. We will tell you the secrets of its preparation today.

Don't be afraid of the foreign word "pasta". Even the Italians mean the same spaghetti, pasta and other similar things. flour products. So the basis for the dish is familiar to all of us. The only thing you need to do is choose them correctly. That is, we don’t grab the first pack we come across in the store because “the price is right,” but we carefully read what is written on the package. Ideally, it is advisable to approach the checkout with a bag of products made from whole grain flour. By the way, they contain the most fiber that our body needs so much. As a result, the dish will turn out to be dietary. If, nevertheless, the cost of the basic basis for a future masterpiece makes you fall into a stupor, opt for products that are made from durum wheat flour. But this is already a threshold that should not be crossed. Purchasing “Extra” class noodles will lead to the fact that at the end you will not get overseas pasta, but pasta porridge a la a dish from a local canteen.

When cooking, follow the golden rule: it is better to undercook than to overcook. Therefore, always try as you go: your paste should be somewhat soft, but still a little fragile.

And one more thing: never rinse pasta under cold water! This way you will spoil not only the taste, but also the structure of the products. In simple words: your pasta with canned tuna will look more like the same porridge, rather than Italian dish. That's probably all. Now let's get acquainted with the cooking options. And the first one will be with canned tuna and tomatoes.

Recipe 7, step by step: pasta with tuna and tomatoes

Very delicious pasta with canned tuna, tomatoes in their own juice and cheese. A very tasty and appetizing dish. And, which is of great importance for me, a working wife and mother, such pasta is prepared literally in a matter of minutes, i.e. can be safely included in the section on a quick fix. So if you are dreaming of a hearty dinner, but don’t want to spend the whole evening at the stove, you will also really like this recipe - pasta with tuna and tomatoes.

  • 150-200 g paste;
  • 1 can of canned tuna (185 g);
  • 2 tomatoes in their own juice;
  • 40 g hard cheese;
  • salt;
  • greens for decoration.

I'll start with the main thing - the pasta. In principle, it can be any pasta: farfalle (butterfly-shaped), penne (tubes with edges cut diagonally), and fusilli (spring-shaped pasta) - the shape depends solely on your preferences. What I like most is spaghetti - it’s familiar, simple and always available: spaghetti is sold in any store, even the smallest. But I always pay attention to the composition and try to buy pasta made from durum wheat: firstly, it is stronger and holds its shape well without turning into a sticky mass during cooking, secondly, it is low-calorie, and thirdly, it contains fiber ( and this is very good for digestion) and B vitamins (they are responsible for our nervous system).

Place a pan of water on the fire and bring to a boil. The amount of water is determined at the rate of at least 1 liter per 100 grams of pasta. Add salt to the water when it boils.

Place the pasta in boiling water. If you, like me, use spaghetti, then you can break it before putting it in the pan, or not break it, but carefully lower one side into the water, wait a little until the spaghetti in the water becomes soft, and press lightly with your hand or spoon the ends of the spaghetti sticking out of the water so that they also end up in the water. Be sure to stir the paste with a spoon after adding it to the water. You can read on the packaging how long you need to cook your pasta - the cooking time is different for different types of pasta.

While the spaghetti (or the pasta you chose) is cooking, we will have time to prepare the tuna and tomato sauce for it. Place the frying pan on the fire. Please note that there is no need to pour oil into the pan.

For the pasta we will need canned tuna - it can be either in oil or in its own juice - to your taste. For this dish, I take chopped tuna for salads, and if you have a large piece of tuna, you need to mash it with a fork - it’s very easy and quick to do.

Tomatoes in their own juice can be either without skin or with skin. In the latter case, I advise you to carefully remove the skin. If you are preparing this dish during the tomato season, you can use fresh ones. But first scald them with boiling water, make a cross-shaped cut on the surface and also remove the skin.

Cut the tomatoes into small cubes with a side of up to 1 cm. The tomatoes will release a lot of juice - this is normal.

Place the tuna in a heated frying pan.

Add tomatoes and the juice they released when slicing to the tuna.

Mix the tuna and tomatoes and leave for a few minutes in a frying pan over low heat. Please note that we do not fry or stew tomatoes and tuna, but heat them together in a frying pan.

Grate the cheese on a medium or fine grater. Any hard cheese is suitable for this recipe. It turns out very tasty with Parmesan, but more affordable varieties like “Russian” or “Dutch” will be good.

Our pasta should be ready by now. Place it in a colander and let the water drain.

Place the pasta in a deep bowl.

Add tuna and tomatoes to the pasta.

Then add grated cheese.

And stir quickly and quickly so that the cheese melts evenly and does not seize in one big lump.

Finely chop the greens. It could be parsley or green onions, and basil - to your taste.

Place the pasta with tuna and tomatoes on a plate, sprinkle with herbs and serve.

Bon appetit!

Pasta with canned tuna and tomatoes is a simple and nutritious dish. It is ideal for dinner, especially if you need to quickly and tasty feed your family. Use only durum wheat for cooking pasta. They do not contain fat, so they will not affect your figure.

Ingredients:

durum wheat spaghetti 250 g

canned tuna in oil 160 g

onion 1 head

garlic 3 cloves

tomatoes (canned in their own juice or fresh) 4-5 pcs.

canned green olives 80 g

hot red pepper 1 pc.

tomato sauce or ketchup 1 tbsp. l.

olive oil 3 tbsp. l.

salt 1 tbsp. l.

mixture of peppers to taste

Italian herbs 1 tsp.

fresh herbs (basil or parsley) small bunch

Number of servings: 4 Cooking time: 30 minutes

Cooking recipe

    Step 1: Cook pasta until done

    Spaghetti and other curly pasta products are suitable for this recipe. The main thing is that they are made from durum wheat. Pour 3 liters of purified water into a deep, large saucepan. Place the pan on the fire and cover with a lid so that the water heats up faster. When the water boils, add half a tablespoon to it table salt and a full tablespoon of oil (I used unscented sunflower oil). The oil will help prevent the spaghetti from sticking together.

    Place the pasta in boiling water. Bring the water to a boil again and reduce the heat. Boil the pasta until tender, following the instructions on the package.

    Carefully drain the hot water from the finished pasta. There is no need to rinse cooked spaghetti.

    Step 2: Fry onions with garlic and red pepper

    While the spaghetti is cooking, prepare the sauce with canned tuna. To do this, first peel and wash the onion and a few cloves of garlic. Finely chop both ingredients.

    Wash the red pepper. Let's remove the seeds, since almost all the bitterness is concentrated in them. Cut the pod into thin rings. The amount of pepper can be adjusted according to your taste. I used about half a pod as I like spicy food. Heat a little olive oil in a deep frying pan. It works best for this recipe. Then add chopped onion and hot red pepper rings.

    Fry the mixture for a few minutes, then add finely chopped garlic cloves to it.

    Fry all ingredients for another minute. At this stage, you can remove the pepper rings from the frying pan; they have already imparted their spiciness to the dish. I decided to leave it so that the pasta with canned tuna would turn out more appetizing and spicier.

    Step 3: Chop the tomatoes and add to the fried onions and garlic

    Tomatoes must be peeled. I used canned vegetables in their own juice, so peeling them was not difficult. If you are using fresh tomatoes, then a cross-shaped shallow cut must be made on top of each vegetable. Now put the tomatoes in boiling water for one minute. Then carefully remove them from the water and clean them. Finely chop the peeled tomatoes.

    Add them along with the juice to the sautéed onions and garlic. Mix thoroughly and continue frying the mixture of ingredients.

    Step 4: Add natural tomato paste and spices

    When the excess water from the pan has evaporated a little and the sauce has thickened, add tomato paste to it. You can also use natural ketchup for the recipe.

    Mix everything carefully. Add salt and a mixture of Italian herbs (rosemary, oregano, cumin) for flavor. Season everything with a mixture of red, black and green pepper.

    Step 5: Add Canned Tuna

    You can use tuna canned in vegetable oil or in its own juice. Drain the liquid and shred the fish with a fork. Add fish pieces to the sauce. Stir and continue cooking the dish over low heat, stirring occasionally.

    Step 6: Add Green Olives

    After the fish, add pitted olives to the rest of the ingredients. They will give pasta with canned tuna a piquant taste. Olives can be added whole or cut into slices. You can use black olives instead of green olives.

    Step 7: Add greens and cook until done

    If the finished pasta sauce is thick, you can dilute it a little with the water in which the pasta was cooked.

    Step 8: Mix pasta with spaghetti

    Now combine the pasta with canned tuna. I mixed the ingredients together, you can pour the finished pasta with tomato sauce on top. Decorate the finished dish with aromatic parsley or basil.

    Step 9: Feed

    We will serve the pasta immediately after cooking, until the dish has cooled. You can sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top of the spaghetti.

    Bon appetit!

Recipe 7, step by step: pasta with tuna and tomatoes

Very tasty pasta with canned tuna, tomatoes in their own juice and cheese. A very tasty and appetizing dish. And, which is of great importance for me, a working wife and mother, such pasta is prepared literally in a matter of minutes, i.e. can be safely included in the quick fix section. So if you are dreaming of a hearty dinner, but don’t want to spend the whole evening at the stove, you will also really like this recipe - pasta with tuna and tomatoes.

  • 150-200 g paste;
  • 1 can of canned tuna (185 g);
  • 2 tomatoes in their own juice;
  • 40 g hard cheese;
  • salt;

It can be parsley, green onions, or basil - to your taste.

Place the pasta with tuna and tomatoes on a plate, sprinkle with herbs and serve.

Bon appetit!

Recipe 8: Pasta with Canned Tuna and Olives
  • 400 g spaghetti
  • 300 ml cream (20% fat)
  • 250 g canned tuna
  • 150 g pitted olives
  • 100 g onions
  • 3 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic
  • small bunch of fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • salt, pepper to taste

Finely chop the onion.

Drain the olives and cut into rings.

Finely chop the parsley.

Finely chop the garlic or put it through a garlic press.

Fry the onion and garlic in olive oil until light golden brown.

Pour the cream into the pan and add the nutmeg.

Drain half the liquid from the tuna. Mash it a little with a fork. Add to the pan along with the olives. Season with salt and pepper.

Fry over low heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring while doing so.

At the end of cooking the sauce, add parsley, stir and remove from heat.

While preparing the sauce, boil the spaghetti in salted water as directed on the package. Drain the water.

Add creamy tuna sauce to spaghetti.

Stir gently.

Now pasta with tuna and olives can be served! A wonderful addition to the dish would be tomatoes or tomato juice, as well as light dry white wine.

Bon appetit!

How to make diet tuna pasta

Pasta with canned tuna is very filling and nutritious dish, but at the same time, oddly enough, it has a low calorie content - only 139 kcal per 100 g. This is due to the fact that the proteins that fish is rich in and complex carbohydrates that enter the body from pasta are digested very slowly in the intestines, for a long time providing us with a feeling of satiety. And this dish does not contain much fat, which is the main source of calories.

Therefore, you can eat tuna pasta every day without harm to your health and figure. However, this statement only holds true when using pasta made from durum wheat, which contains fewer calories and more healthy fiber than pasta made from bread flour. In addition, you can reduce the calorie content of this dish if you cook it without adding vegetable oil, with minimal fat sour cream (10%) and a small amount of cheese.
