Now, at a time of rampant miracles of chemicals for enhanced growth or accelerated ripening, watermelons appear already in May or early June. And then it was necessary to wait until August or early September. And my dad and I went to the market to choose this sweet, scarlet, giant berry! And the watermelon had to be from Astrakhan! After all, Astrakhan has the most suitable climate for growing them, and it is there that the sweetest Watermelon fruits, with juicy bright scarlet pulp, grow.

Choosing the right watermelon ─ it was a whole ritual! And they turned it over, trying to find a larger yellow stale “barrel”, and knocked on it, and squeezed it to hear a characteristic crack, indicating ripeness. We were looking for a watermelon with a dry tip and a bright shiny skin, so that the dark stripes would not dominate the main bright light green color.

And already at home, as soon as the knife stuck into the peel, a rolling crack was heard... And the most important and crucial moment came! Hooray! The watermelon is cut into 2 halves, and our expectations were justified! Before us is bright, juicy pulp with ripe dark seeds. And the aroma! Such a fresh and at the same time unique aroma exuded from that watermelon!

My dad, who was simply known as a “walking encyclopedia,” cut this berry into even beautiful triangles, said: “Now we will cleanse the kidneys!”

This is true, watermelon helps remove all kinds of toxins and everything harmful from the body. In addition, 200 grams of pulp contains daily norm consumption of magnesium, amino acids, vitamins and antioxidants.

Sweetness ─ children's joy!

Of course, in my childhood we did not yet know such inventions as smoothies or fresh juices, but simply ate sweet slices, picking out the seeds from them with a fork.

But nevertheless, fresh watermelon is the same healthy pulp, only already peeled from the seeds and poured into glasses, glasses and mugs.

You can take this fresh juice with you in a glass with a lid and a straw for a walk around the city or park. Or offer it to your guests! A real bright table decoration!

I don’t make fresh watermelon with any additives such as sugar, honey, cinnamon, etc.

In my recipe we simply drink real pure fresh watermelon!

So,for 1 liter of fresh watermelonwe need:

Peel the pulp and remove seeds and place it in a tall container. Puree into a liquid puree using an immersion blender.

I advise you not to be lazy and still remove the watermelon seeds first. After all, a powerful immersion blender is capable of crushing the seeds, and even after straining there will be a high probability that pieces of seeds will end up in the drink.

The resulting pulp must be strained through a very fine sieve. We need watermelon water! We will use it to make fresh ice. You won't get too much water through a fine sieve. Just enough to fill one standard ice tray. And 1 liter of watermelon pulp remains.

Pour the prepared fresh watermelon into a container and decorate the top with fresh mint leaves.

You can wait watermelon ice to put a couple of cubes in the finished fresh juice, or use it for next time!

Watermelon juices are rarely found among store assortments, however, we all know that watermelon pulp is full of liquid and is perfect for passing through a juicer. Ready-made fresh watermelon is delicious on its own, in the company of other juices, or as a base for alcoholic cocktails. We will look at all three options in the recipes below.

Fresh watermelon - recipe

This refreshing watermelon drink is a great way to fight thirst that kids and adults will love. Small quantity citric acid will help highlight the natural sweetness of the juice.

Ingredients:

  • cubes of watermelon pulp - 3 tbsp.;
  • lemon juice - 15 ml;
  • or agave syrup - to taste.

Preparation

Pre-clean the watermelon pulp from seeds if your juicer is not able to filter them. Pass the watermelon through the device and mix the finished syrup with lemon juice. If the natural sweetness of the berry is not enough, you can always supplement the juice with honey or agave syrup, and a couple of ice cubes will provide a refreshing effect.

Fresh watermelon in a blender

The lion's share of watermelon pulp consists of water, and therefore the juice from it does not have to be passed through a juicer; it is enough to use a simple blender and add a small amount of water to the watermelon.

Take a kilogram of watermelon pulp and peel it from the seeds. Place the watermelon pieces in a blender and blend. If you come across a berry that is not too juicy and the finished whipped pulp is more reminiscent of puree, add a little water, otherwise add lemon juice or honey to taste, and then pour into glasses and serve with ice cubes.

Watermelon-melon fresh

The best partner of watermelon during the “velvet season” is melon. We decided to mix the juice of both fruits for this recipe and it turned out delicious.

Prepare equal portions of melon and watermelon pulp, remove all seeds from the latter. Place the prepared fruits in a blender bowl and blend until smooth. Dilute the finished puree with ice water or pieces of ice, and if the sweetness of melon and watermelon is not enough, add honey.

How to make frozen watermelon juice?

You can also cool down with frozen watermelon juice, which can be supplemented with the juices of other berries and fruits or alcohol, as we will do later.

Ingredients:

  • watermelon pieces - 8 tbsp.;
  • tequila - 175 ml;
  • lime juice - 11 ml;
  • granulated sugar - 45 g.

Preparation

Beat all the ingredients with a blender and pour the juice and tequila into a container. Freeze for two hours and then spoon into glasses.

Let's buy a ripe watermelon and start cooking!

Cut out the juicy pulp from half a watermelon and remove the seeds from it, placing it in a deep container.

Let's also add honey: buckwheat, flower, etc., and fresh mint leaves. If you are allergic to honey, then replace it with a few teaspoons granulated sugar. Also, if you wish, you can add about 0.5 tsp. lemon juice.

Using an immersion blender at low speed, carefully grind the watermelon pulp, turning it into a smoothie, or rather, into fresh juice.

Pour fresh watermelon from a blender into serving glasses or cocktail glasses. If you want to remove almost all the pulp, then additionally place a strainer with a double layer of gauze on each glass and strain the fresh juice - you will get real watermelon juice.

Serve fresh watermelon with straws. It is advisable that they have wide holes, since the crushed pulp will get stuck in the thin ones.

For those who like to drink chilled drinks, I advise you to add a few ice cubes to each glass or cool the fresh watermelon in the refrigerator - it will be stored for about 6 hours without losing its taste.

Cut the pulp into cubes and place in portions into a blender. Let's prepare fresh juice. And then pour it back into the body of the watermelon. You can add squeezed lemon or lime to the thick fresh juice. Stir and cover with the lid from the top of the watermelon. Once again, it should be noted that the drink must be consumed within half an hour, otherwise it will lose some of its healing properties. Before pouring into glasses, stir the fresh juice again and put a few ice cubes in the container for additional cooling. Decorate each glass with a sprig of mint.

How to make fresh watermelon according to a folk recipe

Today, many kitchens have such a magical culinary device as a blender. Of course, it speeds up the preparation of many dishes, making them less labor intensive. But what to do if you have not yet acquired such a device, but want to prepare fresh juice from ripe watermelon? The steps are very simple: after all, once upon a time our grandmothers and mothers made do with improvised means?

  2. We take a knife and cut out the red pulp along with the seeds (we try not to touch the green ones).
  3. Through a fairly large sieve (so that the seeds do not pass through and the pulp falls into the holes), grind the watermelon into the prepared container. The effect we get is almost the same as in a blender, you just have to tinker a little more.
  4. Pour the resulting fresh juice into a bowl. To taste, you can add lime or lemon juice and a spoonful of honey. But you don't have to add it. Let's mix. Pour the resulting drink into glasses with ice cubes and garnish with mint sprigs.
